Location is the key

Woman -- I'm trying to think of the name of a city east of here.  It starts with an S.

Me -- Is the city in County Y?

W -- Yes, east of here.  Very east.  In County Y.  I just can't think of it!

So I name off a couple cities that came to my mind, but they weren't what she was thinking.

Finally, I mentioned the name of the city that we are in, and she can't believe it-- we are actually IN City S in County Y.  Unbelievable.

I work in a small town in Wisconsin with a fairly common name. I was trying to help someone on the phone locate the library and it wasn't working. The landmarks and street names were correct, but they were all slightly...out of place. Finally, I just had to ask..."are you in Nebraska or Wisconsin?" and yep, she was in Nebraska. How she dialed our number without noticing the different area code I do not know...but apparently the Nebraska town is quite similar in layout to ours. I've also had confused people trying to apply for jobs in the NE town as well!
